The search for HCDC Outstanding Alumni has re-commenced!

One of the true measures of success can be determined in the achievements of a person. These achievements should be encompassing all aspects of one’s being. It should exude in everything that one does in his life, be it in his family or in the community.

As a way of recognizing the exemplary performance of our Alumni, the Holy Cross of Davao College Alumni Association Inc., (HCDCAAI) has created the “Search for the Most Outstanding Alumni.” This project was launched in 2004. The newly installed Archbishop of Davao City, Most Rev. Archbishop Romulo Valles in his homily during the Baccalaureate Mass, had encouraged the graduates to become living witnesses of God’s truth and love. He delved on the school’s motto, “Ex Fide Ad Veritatem” which means “From Faith to Truth”. It’s been a year since we, the Officers of Holy Cross of Davao College Alumni Association Incorporated (HCDCAAI) were elected. You installed us because you believe in our leadership skills to foster change and improvement to our beloved Alma Mater. So today, on behalf of the group, I would like to report the various accomplishments we have done in a very detailed way so that each one of you will be able to know where we are heading to and what the future is in store for us. The following achievements were not a one-man-show but a collaborative effort of the different members of the Council, the elected Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Elementary, High School, College, Graduate School and Vocational and Technical Departments. Pope appoints grade school alumnus Bishop of Ipil

The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI appointed Msgr. Julius Tonel, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Davao, as the new bishop prelate of the territorial prelature of Ipil in Zamboanga, Sibugay province.

The new prelate of Ipil, succeeding Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, now the Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro, will run a population of 622,000; 406,000 of which are Catholics, 35 priests and 47 religious. Read More>>>

From BSE to DepEd-XI Asst. chief

Dr. Minerva Tosco Fabros is one of the many academicians of integrity ever produced by HCDC, she now being the assistant chief of the Elementary Education Division of Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office XI.

Dr. Fabros completed her Bachelor of Science in Education major in Teaching Filipino in March 1987 in HCDC. She also was the department chair of the Bachelor of Elementary Education of HCDC from 1980-1991. She finished Bachelor of Science in Education at the Philippine Normal University with special training in Music and Arts. Read More>>>
