Profile of HCDC President Msgr. Julius C. Rodulfa

Rev. Msgr. Julius C. Rodulfa started his term as the Third President of the Holy Cross of Davao College, Inc. (HCDC) on 1 June 2010, and was installed last 14 September 2010 on the occasion of the School’s 59th foundation anniversary.

Rev. Msgr. Rodulfa was born in Malvar, Davao City on 7 July 1960. He studied AB Philosophy at St. Francis Xavier College Seminary. He took up Theology in the University of Sto. Tomas and graduated cum laude. He was ordained priest by the late Archbishop of Davao Antonio Ll. Mabutas on 20 April 1985 at the age of 24, and gain a title of “youngest priest” in his time, which took eight (8) years then. He finished his masteral degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at St. John’s University, New York in 2000.

For his untiring commitment and dedication to the Church, he was conferred with the honor as papal chaplain by Pope Benedict XVI on 15 December 2009 at the San Pedro Cathedral. He celebrated his 25th sacerdotal anniversary last 20 April 2010. Prior to his appointment in HCDC, he served as Rector of St. Francis Xavier College Seminary from 2000 to 2010. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the HCDC Board of Trustees. He is also a trustee of the Archdiocesan Schools of Davao and Davao Association of Colleges and Schools. Moreover, he serves as Superintendent of the Catholic Schools of Davao and Vice President of the Board of Directors of Holy Cross Press.

As a servant-leader, he concretizes what it truly means to form a “Christ-like image” not only for himself, but also for others by motivating and leading them.

The institutional research, Holy Cross of Davao College at 60: Reflection of the Davao Community (2011) recommended that “the entire institution, bound by its role as an evangelizing arm of the Catholic Church, make the school increasingly Catholic in flavor.”
