A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program in 2004, PO3 Sheila May Pansoy, now a proud member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has been named as one of the recipients of this year’s prestigious Metrobank Most Outstanding Fiipino award.

PO3 Pansoy is anti-abuse advocate who in her 11 years of service to the country has poured all her heart out to protecting children and women from abuse and violence. She is actively engaged in the rescue and assistance operations to aid victims toward recovery.

She also conducts various counseling workshops focusing on marriage and responsible parenthood in certain barangays in order to decrease the incidence of marital abuse.

Driven by her goal of creating a crime and a bully-free environment through information and education, Pansoy has extended her heart and hands in service to some 24 schools of Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.

“I always give an extra mile in helping the abused not just because I am mandated by law, but because I am mandated by heart”, Pansoy, who claimed to have grown up in a hostile environment and ruthless violence  said.

She added that HCDC has not only prepared her academically, but also spiritually. In everything she does, she places God and her faith first. Because of this, this Most Outstanding Filipino is ever grateful to her alma mater.
