The Ambassador of Sweden to the Philippines, Her Excellency Annika Thunborg, recently visited the Holy Cross of Davao College and met with the school administrators through a gathering initiated by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP)–Southern Mindanao Business Chapter tuesday morning, March 22, 2022. 

The meeting centered on the future collaborations that the Sweden and the Philippines reached, particularly in Southern Mindanao and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Expanding business opportunities and the importance of linking the academe with business sectors were also discussed.

Several representatives from different business sectors which include the hotel industry, electric distribution company, seaweeds processing, banking and finance, and the academe were among present and had the chance to share their views about the current situation of their respective sectors.

They also explored the possibility of creating job opportunities and on-the-job training to the partner-schools of ECCP-SMBC, of which Holy Cross of Davao College has been an active member since last year.

Among the attendees of the brief conference were HCDC President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C. and Sheryl J. Urdaneta from the Holy Cross of Davao College; Antonio Peralta, Chairman of ECCP-SMBC; Arnold Arsolon from the Davao Light and Power Co.; Joselito Crisostomo from the China Banking Corporation Davao; Christopher Kuch from Lanang Realty Development Corporation (Dusit Thani Residence Davao & Dusitd2 Hotel Davao); Liza Gamo from Park Inn by Radisson Davao; Gray Goodwin from Marine Algae Products Inc.; and Dr. Erwin Faller from the San Pedro College.

The meeting concluded with positive linkages that HCDC acquired for future academic and business exchanging of ideas intended for the students, teachers and alumni of the institution.
