Center for Research and Development (CRD)

Research Agenda and Priorities

The Center for Research and Development, during its annual action plan evaluation, develops the Institutional Research Agenda based on the mandates of government agencies as well as organizations of which the school is a member.

This Research Agenda is submitted to the Research Council.

After the deliberation of the Research Council, the Research Agenda is endorsed for recommendation to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for the approval of the President.

Once approved by the President, the Research Agenda shall be posted on the Center for Research and Development bulletin board. Likewise, a copy of the agenda shall be forwarded to the academic heads.

The academic heads shall be asked to identify their department’s research agenda anchored on the Institutional Research Agenda.

Once the departmental research agenda is identified, each faculty member in the department shall be required to develop his or her individual research agenda.

Both the faculty and departmental research agendas shall be forwarded to the Center for Research and Development. Likewise, the faculty research agenda shall be posted on the respective departmental bulletin boards. This posting shall guide student researchers in identifying their appropriate adviser or panel member.

The Institutional Research Agenda shall be reviewed every three years.

In crafting the research agenda, the Center for Research and Development considers as its foundation the National Higher Education Research Agenda (NHERA), the Commission on Higher Education’s Research Agenda, the National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) Regional Research Agenda, as well as the needs of the institution (e.g., curriculum reform, ASEAN integration).
