Faculty of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education (CHaTME) of Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) introduced the city’s notable landmarks to internationalization education management expert, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stephen T. Homer, as part of #HCDC’s initiative on globalizing sustainable tourism.

Dr. Homer, an expert researcher in Sunway University, the ASEAN+ and in the field of business in Malaysia, which ranked as ASEAN’s top tourism destination countries, embarked on a cultural exposure in Davao City’s rich heritage on January 28, where he shared his insights on the strategic capacity of HCDC in enhancing and developing sustainable tourism of the city.

The cultural exposure complemented Dr. Homer’s stint as the primary resource speaker during the Center for Linkages, Internationalization, and Language Studies’ (LINK-IN & LS) Workshop for Internationalization for Sustainable Engagement (WISE) last January, connecting academic concepts with real-world practices in sustainability and tourism.

As an expert in the academe and in regional integration, Dr. Homer’s inputs at HCDC strengthens institutional ties with Sunway University, opening opportunities for future collaboration in research, internationalization, and sustainable tourism and education projects, LINK-IN & LS has continued to trailblaze significant sustainable initiatives, including its flagship Placemaking in Asia, supporting United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
