In the true spirit of Christmas, the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), through the Center for Social Communications and Alumni Affairs (CSCAA) took part in the 3rd Year Outreach Program of DJP Mendoza Accounting & Auditing Services, one of the valued partner merchants of the HCDC Alumni Privilege Card (APC).
Since 2023, the outreach program has consistently provided essential goods and medical supplies to Indigenous Peoples (IP) learners, students, and community members. This meaningful activity, which took place on December 16, 2025, at the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) in Bago Oshiero, Mintal, Davao City, aligns with the ALIBYO (Alumni Involvement Bayanihan and Outreach) program of the center.
Reflecting on the commitment to organize a service for the community, Dec John Mendoza, managing partner of DJP Mendoza Accounting & Auditing Services and HCDC alumnus shared a personal detail about almost cancelling the outreach.
“Dili unta ni madayon ang outreach kay mag exam mi for my law school and blessing in disguise kay na cancel among flight to Dubai,” Mendoza said.

Beyond material assistance, the initiative serves as a vital platform for partner institutions and organizations to actively demonstrate their dedication to improving community welfare through concrete and impactful support. This year’s outreach places a special focus on 90 Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) currently under the care of the RRCY. Recognizing the importance of care, guidance, and encouragement for these young individuals, the program aims to promote their overall well-being while offering moments of joy, hope, and love during the Christmas season.
One of the young male residents from the RRCY, shared their gratitude for the effort and care. “Salamat kaayo sa pag anhi diria biskan gamay na panahon. Kamo’y nag hatag og presensya nga biskan wala pa’y pasko pero sayo kaayo nag hatag og pinaskohan. Salamat kaayo Sir… dako kaayo ni’g tabang sa amoa… dili mi mahutdan og tan’aw sa among kaugmaon… nga naa pa’y pag-asa,” he said.
Through the collective efforts of the DJP Mendoza Accounting & Auditing Services’ staff and clients, Mr. Mendoza’s family and friends, Barktrade Pet Supplies’ owners, and the HCDC-CSCAA team, the outreach activity provided essential supplies to address the urgent needs of the CICL beneficiaries. The gift-giving activity helped spread Christmas cheer and fostered positivity, reminding the beneficiaries that they are valued and supported by the community.

Emphasizing the importance of this joint effort, representing Mrs. Angelic Paña, DSWD Region 11 Center Head and Lywelyn T. Bibera, Social Welfare Officer II of RCCY, concluded the day with a sincere gratitude.
“I would like to express our gratitude for spending your outreach program here in RCCY and we are hoping by next year naa gihapon ning same activity na makalipay jud sa amoang kabantanonan na hatagan sila og kalipay ug hope na mag padayon sa ilahang rehabilitasyon diri sa center,” Bibera said.
As partners who came together for this meaningful cause, the initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, compassion, and shared responsibility in uplifting lives and nurturing hope—especially during the most heartfelt season of the year.
