
The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) visited the Chinese Consulate in Davao City for a dialogue with Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen aimed at strengthening cultural and educational collaboration between the two institutions. The discussion focused on cultural exchange programs that promote mutual understanding, scholarship opportunities in China for HCDC students and faculty, and expanded avenues for China–Philippines educational cooperation, including potential sister-school agreements and faculty exchanges. The Consulate also expressed openness to exploring joint initiatives for HCDC’s 75th Anniversary celebration, recognizing the institution’s location in Davao Chinatown and the longstanding friendship shared by both communities.


The HCDC delegation was composed of Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C., President; Mr. Rommel Momo, Vice President for Operations; Dr. Teresa P. Fabiania, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ms. Sheryl J. Urdaneta, Head of the Center for Linkages, Internationalization and Language Studies; Ms. Lulu Cayon, Coordinator of the Institute for ASEAN European Studies; and Ms. Jea Piencenaves, Coordinator for Mobility and Partnership.
Both sides expressed optimism for future collaborations that will enrich cross-cultural engagement and create meaningful opportunities for students, faculty, and the wider community.
