The Holy Cross of Davao College – Maritime Program and the Maritime Training Center (MTC) continue to sail across boundaries after a successful periodic audit last July 7 to 8, 2022.
The Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a leading global provider of accredited management systems, has recognized the College of Maritime Education and the Maritime Training Center to have strictly conformed to the Quality Management System Standard: ISO 9001:2015 in providing maritime education and training for the national and international shipping industry.
DNV Lead Auditor Ms. Jessen Jay Reyes completed the successful periodic audit with zero nonconformities. It means that the HCDC Management System is considered effective and in compliance with the ISO 9000:2015 standard, based on the audit sample taken.
The closing meeting was attended by the school President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Teresa P. Fabiania, Vice President for Operations Rommel F. Momo, Human Resource Head Doreli Flor S. Laviña, Academic Quality Assurance Specialist Dr. Jean Legaspi, Maritime Faculty and Finance personnel.
Dr. Jean Legaspi, the HCDC Academic Quality Assurance Specialist, said the continued support and selfless service of the Maritime faculty, students, and offices helped them secure the achievement.
“Selfless service and fullest support from all Maritime faculty and students, support office heads, and administrators were the major factors that made the audit successful,” she said.
By virtue of a Quality Management Certificate issued by DNV which is valid until 2023, the program is assured to be navigating toward the right direction. (MKO)
