The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) will adopt a ‘Compressed Work Week’ (CWW) Schedule which will officially begin on October 1, 2024 until the end of the semester on December 13.

September 30, a Monday, falling on the first week of October, is considered an additional day-off to the offices who availed the CWW schedule.

CWW schedule is an initiative of the administration to provide an option for its employees not to render service on Mondays instead extend their work hours from Tuesday to Friday, adding Monday to their usual day-offs from Saturdays and Sundays, as part of its effort to promote the holistic wellness of its employees.

Human Resource Head Doreli Flor S. Laviña said that, as of writing, there have been 28 offices that have availed the CWW, and these offices shall serve their usual transactions from Tuesdays to Fridays, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

She said that those offices that did not opt for the CWW schedule will retain their normal 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, work schedules.

Among the 28 offices that have confirmed the CWW schedule are the Office of Finance, Office of Registrar and Records Management, Office of Student Affairs and Services and its sub-unit Admission and Scholarships Office.

Laviña said that the CWW schedule does not cover the ‘full-time teaching personnel’ as they are not required to be onsite during Mondays.

However, Laviña said that academic heads are given the CWW schedule option, as they hold offices.

As a background, the Human Resource Office conducted a survey earlier this year to its employees in the creation of its wellness program, in which the office found out that the employees would like an additional flexible work arrangement, which has led to the now CWW schedule.

HCDC continues to adapt wellness initiatives in hopes to develop a more holistically advanced community that values the health of its students and employees to better serve its clients and partners in the community.
