To strengthen community engagement and stewardship, the Holy Cross of Davao College has entered into an agreement with the San Miguel Parish in Marahan, Davao City through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed last September 25, 2022.

The ceremonial signing was graced by Davao Archbishop Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., HCDC President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C., San Miguel Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Felix C. Bontog, Jr, Marilog District Barangay Captain Purificacion Suyco, Archdiocesan Social Action Center Director Rev. Fr. Leonardo A. Dublan, Jr. DCD, and HCDC Center for Integral Evangelization Head Armando C. Dura.

The partnership aimed at improving the cognitive, affective, and character formation of faculty members, non-teaching personnel, students, and alumni through constant community immersion and dialogue.

Chairpersons from different college programs and heads of offices as well as the entire congregation of San Miguel Parish were also present at the groundbreaking event.

While collaboration aims to provide opportunities to be stewards of the school and partner communities, it also hopes to develop and implement projects that are responsive to the community’s needs while performing within the capability and resources of the program’s area of discipline consistent with the HCDC’s vision and mission.

The HCDC’s Social Action Office, with the assistance of the faculty, non-teaching personnel, students, alumni, and stakeholders, will spearhead the programs, projects, and activities for the partner communities.

The parish was also celebrating its 18th Parochial Fiesta during the ceremonial signing.
