The Holy Cross of Davao College is committed to forming stronger relations with the Filipino-Chinese community in Davao City by embracing them through installation of Chinese characters in one of the school’s signages.
These Chinese characters, which were installed last year, can be seen along C. De Guzman Street.

HCDC is part of Davao City’s Chinatown — one of the earliest business centers in the city. HCDC is also a witness to the rich history, culture and development of the Filipino-Chinese community in Davao City, and contributes to the education of the youth within the city, and beyond”, HCDC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Teresa P. Fabiania said.
The school’s current location at Sta. Ana Avenue is one of the border areas where Davao Chinatown is also situated.
Chinatown is the primary residential and commercial area of the Filipino-Chinese or Chinese residents in the city.
It can also be recalled that in April last year, the school’s administrators paid a visit through a courtesy call to the Consulate General of China in Davao as part of the institution’s thrust to engage in international ties.

HCDC President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C. along with the Vice President for Operations Mr. Rommel Momo and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Teresa P. Fabiania was personally welcomed by Chinese Consul General Li Lin to discuss matters relating to establishing partnership between the Holy Cross of Davao College and the Consulate General of China in Davao.

Consul General Lin has expressed his willingness to assist the institution in building firm linkages especially in the field of education exchanges and collaborations between schools and colleges in Mindanao and its counterparts in China.
During the meeting, Br. Deloria has presented the institution’s notable achievements through the years and its current direction as a renewed, revitalized, restructured and ready for the future Archdiocesan educational institution of Davao City.

Br. Deloria also shared that HCDC plans to create a new program which is the Institute of Language wherein short courses of foreign languages including Mandarin language will be offered.

Consul General Lin is eager to provide recommendations and give full support to HCDC in the preparation and realization of its vocational courses in the near future.
