As the country continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Holy Cross of Davao College has remained committed to ensuring a well-informed community about the upcoming national elections in May 2022 and other election-related developments, forming young people and adults to become committed and empowered citizens.

On November 26, 2021, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was forged between Holy Cross of Davao College through its president Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C. and GMA Network, one of the country’s largest networks, to keep a close watch on the electoral process and help voters as they make that very important decision come election day.

This is the second time for the said network to partner with the country’s top colleges, universities and organizations in furthering its advocacy. HCDC is the only partner-school of GMA in Region XI.

As an Archdiocesan educational institution, HCDC will continue its mission to be of service to others and to provide a common vision of a peaceful and just society.

This is the time we have to strengthen our political education. As part of our commitment to truth, we have to fight against fake news,” Br. Deloria said.

Currently, the school is taking part in crafting voters’ formation campaign through the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS) Youth Circles of Discernment in collaboration with the Church and community to inculcate and develop the capability and habit of discernment among youth to participate in choosing leaders who manifest moral values.

Any elections will really need discernment, it’s not just about deciding who will be our leaders, but I guess, part of our being Christian is also to consult God and let Him be part of this human endeavor,” Br. Deloria emphasized.

HCDC is set to intensify its political education campaign ‘Vote for Truth’ next year through social media platforms to impart to students, parishes and communities the tremendous responsibility of voters in promoting honesty, integrity, and truth in the coming elections.
