Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) marked a significant milestone in its alumni relations efforts by successfully conducting an Alumni Portal support services training session and signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with internal partners.
The event occurred in the 5th Floor Conference Room of HCDC on August 28, 2024, gathering key representatives from various offices to formalize their collaboration on the HCDC-Alumni Portal.
The training and MOA signing signify a strategic effort to elevate the services offered to HCDC alumni, focusing on the innovative use of the HCDC-Alumni Portal.
This online platform is set to streamline various alumni-related services, including processing credentials, online payments, and access to merchandise, ensuring that these services are more accessible and efficient.
Representatives from the Center for Social Communications and Alumni Affairs (CSCAA) and various internal partners, including the Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), Business Unit Office, Office of Registration and Records Management (ORRM), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Office, were present to pledge their commitment to this collaborative initiative.
The MOA was signed by Derf Hanzel C. Maiz, Head of CSCAA; Ryan Nilo M. Boholano, the Accounting Head; Aiza B. Gallego, the Business Units Head; Jennifer C. Yee, the Registrar; and Engr. Gernante O. Polestico, the ICT Head.
During the event, Derf Hanzel C. Maiz, Head of the Center for Social Communications and Alumni Affairs, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating, “This innovation brings significant improvements in providing services to our alumni. The HCDC-Alumni Portal is a realization of our collective efforts, and it wouldn’t be possible without the involved offices and support of the administration especially HCDC President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria.”
The training session aimed to familiarize the staff with the new system, ensuring they are well-prepared to manage the HCDC-Alumni Portal.
The objectives included streamlining the online services for credential requests and merchandise, familiarizing participants with the process flow, and securing the commitment of all involved offices to ensure the portal’s successful operation.
Mr. Maiz further emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting the challenges faced in developing the portal and the role of the internal partners in overcoming these obstacles.
He thanked the service provider, Infosoft, for their ethical and efficient service and the HCDC staff for their dedication.
The MOA signed during the event will be effective for two years, setting the framework for ongoing collaboration and the continued development of the HCDC-Alumni Portal.
This initiative is expected to set a new standard for alumni services at HCDC, with plans to introduce additional features, including a digital yearbook, in the coming months.
“This portal is not just a tool for today but a foundation for future initiatives that will benefit our alumni community,” Maiz concluded.
