The New Crusaders Futsal Women Team of the Holy Cross of Davao College is set to compete for the semi final round in the 17th Acosta Cup on December 4, 2022 after the team won two games against its opponents last November 20 and 27, respectively at Faith International Academy Field in Davao City.

The New Crusaders Futsal Women Team crushed Lasang Football Club in a 6-0 score during match 9.

Meanwhile, the team maintained its momentum as they left Sped Wolves Football Club empty-handed in a 5-0 score during match 11.

New Crusaders Futsal Women Team Head Coach Florante Altivo expressed his happiness after the team secured its spot for the semi finals.

“Happy, kasi nag-contribute yung players, nagdeliver sila nang maayos (Happy, because the players contributed and performed well),” Altivo said.

Team striker Rianna Trespacios also expressed her joy as she was one of the athletes who brought pride to the school.

“I’m so proud and happy kaayo na dala-on namo’ng Holy Cross sa Acosta Cup and sa akong teammates kay proud kaayo ko, proud kaayo mi tanan (I’m so proud and very happy to bring Holy Cross to the Acosta Cup and I am very proud of my teammates as well, we are all proud),” Trespacios said.

She added their hard work and trust among their teammates helped them earn their spot in the semis.

Coach Altivo remains optimistic on their goals to win more futsal tournaments.

The 17th Acosta Cup commenced last October 30, 2022, and is expected to conclude on December 11, 2022.
