In an effort to provide mental health services and strengthen mental health programs, mental health providers Body Mind Spirit Sync, Pusong Sikolohikal Psychological Care Services, Olive Branch Wellness Center, and Hiraya-Diwa Psychological Services are now in alliance with Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) after inking the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last November 11, 2022, at Holy Cross of Davao College.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Teresa P. Fabiana and Vice President for Operations represented HCDC during the signing of MOA, along with the representatives of the respective partner organizations.

“My heart is overflowing with joy, finally we flow, what we would refer to our students, especially to the students’ skills and challenges,” Dr. Fabiana expressed her gratitude to the partner organizations.

She assured that the partnership would be helpful in providing mental health services to the academic heads, teaching, and non-teaching personnel of the institution.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology faculty representative Kharls P. Tahroy, RPm emphasized that the partnership was not only for the guidance office, but for the whole institution.

“It’s not just a partnership for the guidance office, but also throughout the institution, particularly in our department, kay pwede man mi maka-benefit especially in developing skills and knowledge of the Psych students,” she said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gina R. Lamzon of the Body Mind Spirit Sync also expressed her appreciation for the partnership.

“I am really grateful for the partnership, for this collaboration to be able to combat all those mental health concerns,” Dr. Lamzon said.

Moreover, Dr. Marie Joyce Tupas of Olive Branch Wellness Center is also excited about being one of the mental health providers of HCDC.

“It is a privilege and it feels good that the educational institution established a referral system. It feels good to advocate for mental health even in institutions like this,” Dr. Tupas said.

Further, Dr. Klent Rodni Delima said that making mental health services accessible for those who need it is the main mission of Hiraya-Diwa Psychological Services.

“This partnership ensures that mission for us, also. We hope that it will reach more clients that need help in terms of mental health,” Dr. Delima explained.

Gabrielle Marie C. Felio of Pusong Sikolohikal Psychological Care Services also extended her gratitude for the newly established partnership.

“Nakita gyud nako how important mental health, demand is really huge, and I’m so very grateful through the signing ceremony kay mas maging accessible ang mental health for all especially to students because they are the future of this nation (I saw the huge demand and how important mental health is, and I’m very grateful for this signing ceremony as this makes mental health more accessible for all, especially to students because they are the future of this nation),” Felio said.

The newly established partnership was witnessed by the Center for Linkages, Internationalization and Language Studies (Link-In & LS) Head Sheryl Urdaneta, Prefect of Discipline Pontini Caloscos, Student Affairs and Service Head Kevin Paul Bonotan, and the Guidance and Counseling Office headed by De Mar Bangeles.

It can be recalled that weeks before these new four mental health providers’ partnership with HCDC, the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) also vowed to assist the institution’s mental health programs through an agreement.
