Continuing her visit to the European Union, Ms. Sheryl J. Urdaneta, the Head of the Center for Linkages, Internationalization & Language Studies (Link-In & LS), and Concurrent Head of the Institute of ASEAN-European Studies, embarked on a 3.5-hour journey from Frankfurt to the picturesque Bavarian town of Bamberg. Her destination was the University of Bamberg, where she had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Andreas Weihi, the Internationalization Director.
A fruitful discussion took place between Ms. Urdaneta, Dr. Weihi, and his team, focusing on exploring partnership opportunities and potential areas of collaboration. Preliminary plans were drafted for a preparatory trip and an exchange program, laying the foundation for an exciting collaboration between the two institutions. Furthermore, Ms. Urdaneta was given an exclusive tour of the university’s state-of-the-art facilities and student dormitories. Notably, the University of Bamberg boasts a diverse international student population and actively participates in the Erasmus+ program. After the productive meeting, Ms. Urdaneta was graciously guided around the historic town by Ms. Khrystyna Pavliukh, a staff member of the Internationalization office. Ms. Pavliukh, originally an exchange student from Ukraine, was so captivated by Bamberg’s charm that she decided to extend her stay and contribute to the University of Bamberg. The tour showcased the town’s rich history, featuring remarkable and well-preserved medieval architecture.
