On October 21, 2024, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) marked a significant milestone in its commitment to international collaboration and academic exchange in partnership with students from the University of Central Missouri (UCM), fostering dialogue on criminal justice practices and educational strategies across borders.

The event served as a platform for both academic and cultural exchange, strengthening international connections and offering students from both institutions the opportunity to engage in global discussions related to their field.

HCDC-CCJE Program Chairperson Mr. Arvin V. Timbang delivered a presentation on the Philippine Criminal Justice System, providing valuable insights into the structure, processes, and challenges of the justice system in the Philippines, enhancing UCM students’ understanding and fostering academic exchange between the two institutions.

Mr. Timbang expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing its significance saying “In this international engagement, we introduced the justice system of the Philippines. Moreover, this is also to strengthen the partnership between HCDC and UCM, that even though we are thousand miles away from them, still we are connected.”

He also described this effort as part of a broader initiative to enhance students’ educational experiences by embracing a global perspective.

“Our program is going global, and we are exploring further collaborations with UCM and potentially other international criminology schools or universities,” he added.

HCDC continues to enhance its curriculum and prepare its students for a globalized world by creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. This highlights the importance of academic partnerships in expanding knowledge and fostering a more interconnected educational experience.
