Among the 12,074 passers out of the 22,454 examinees under secondary level released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on March 11, a Holy Crossian aced its way as the 10th placer of the Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET) last January 2022.
“Lord, ikaw na bahala. Ikaw lang jud ang nasayod unsa among i-exam karon. All my worries and struggles, I lift it up to you, Lord (Lord, I leave everything to you. You are the only one who knows what we shall be taking for exams today),” a prayer recited by 25-year old, Elaisa Laurente Silvano before opening the test booklet in front of her during the examination.
The Bachelor of Physical Education Major in School Physical Education graduate of Holy Cross of Davao College has always been a firm believer of the power one’s prayer has.
Just a day before her birthday, on March 11, Silvano received the best birthday gift she could ever receive for placing tenth in the 2022 Secondary Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET) with 90.80 percent passing rate.
After waiting and reviewing for two years to take the boards due to the pandemic, she was able to finally set foot to her assigned examination venue.
Silvano said that her journey to making it to the examination day was not easy as it was filled with self-doubt and pressure from colleagues who previously passed the board exam.
Financial problems, death of a loved one, and her own health that got affected were just a few things that she went through on the time she was reviewing.
“Ask and you shall receive if you have faith,” Silvano wrote on her notepad of her laptop that little did she know was a way of manifesting her place on the list of topnotchers this year.
Obtaining her LPT title, Silvano said that she owes everything to God as she believes that she was not the only one battling through the test questions but the Almighty too.
She has also expressed her gratitude to the institution who has become her home that taught her values that she will bring through teaching. (Faith Del Rosario, BA Comm Intern)
