Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) took a significant step in expanding academic horizons as it hosted an Information Sharing Session with Education USA on March 25, 2025. The event provided students with invaluable insights into pursuing higher education opportunities in the United States, reinforcing HCDC’s commitment to fostering global perspectives.
The highlight of the session was the presence of Mr. George Mesthos, Deputy Director of Public Engagement at the U.S. Embassy, who emphasized the role of education as a bridge to international opportunities. His participation underscored the strong educational partnerships between the United States and the Philippines, inspiring students to explore academic pathways beyond local borders.
Students had the unique opportunity to engage directly with representatives from prestigious U.S.-based institutions. These experts guided attendees through the application process, scholarship opportunities, and the overall experience of studying abroad. The discussions also provided practical advice on securing financial aid, navigating visa requirements, and adapting to a new academic environment.
Presenters included Ms.Rochel Miguel (EducationUSA); Krittaya Pichitnapakul (University of San Francisco); Magi Manalili (Lewis University); and Adrian Ferma (Savanah College of Art and Design).
“This session has given us not just information, but a vision of what’s possible. It’s exciting to think that global education is within our reach,” Reymark Amto, a 2nd year BA Communication student shared.
The event marked potential collaborative efforts between HCDC and international academic institutions, opening doors for students to experience world-class education. As Education USA continues to foster academic mobility, HCDC remains dedicated to equipping its students with the knowledge and resources needed to compete on a global scale.
