Bachelor Of Science In Accountancy/ Management Accounting (Bsa/Bsma)
The Accountancy program is committed to produce accounting graduates who possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to excel in careers in the public practice of accountancy, commerce and industry, government, and academic through teaching, professional development, and service.
To fulfill its mission, the Accountancy program enables the students to:
- participate in activities within or outside the classroom to hone their knowledge on technical accounting information and analytical skills;
- engage in research activities that aim to improve understanding of accounting theories practices and issues and developing innovative educational materials and techniques;
- seek continuous improvement in the program through faculty development; and
- and develop appropriate ethical and professional behavior, a desire for life-long learning, and respect for diverse demographic and cultural backgrounds.
RETENTION POLICY:
A student is retained in the BSA Program when the following minimum academic
Performance in a given semester or summer are met:
- A rating of at least 80% (20-base grading system, see 4.0 Grading System) in all
board and board-related subjects;
- A weighted average grade of at least 83% in any given semester with no grade
below75% (50-base grading system, see 4.0 Grading System) for all general
education subjects;
- However, the BSA department may retain a student even if he/she failed to
meet above minimum academic performance provided a reasonable evaluation
that lead to such retention is conducted.
