Former HCDC President Msgr. Julius Rodulfa is among the three Filipino priests chosen by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to participate in the worldwide convention for Synod on Synodality’s “listening, prayer, and discernment”.
Msgr. Rodulfa, the Vicar General, Episcopal Vicar for Clergy, and Pastoral Director of the Archdiocese of Davao, and concurrent Parochial Vicar, San Pedro Cathedral Parish in Davao City will be Mindanao’s representative for the five-day meeting in Fraterna Domus retreat house in Sacrofano on April 29 to May 2, 2024.
Together with Luzon’s Msgr. Joel Bruno Barut of the Diocese of Laoag, and Msgr. Marnito Bansig of Diocese of Maasin from Visayas, the priests will participate with 300 priests from around the world, in roundtable discussions, liturgies, workshops on pastoral proposals, and dialogue with experts, in response to the first synod gathering in October 2023.
In its faithful objective in “listening and valuing the experience of parish priests” and offering them “an opportunity to experience the dynamism of synodal work at a universal level”, the clergymen is scheduled to meet with Pope Francis on May 2.
In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, 2024 has been designated a Year of Prayer by the Holy Father, calling on the faithful “to pray more fervently to prepare ourselves to live properly in this grace-filled event and to experience the power of hope in God.”
