MISSION:
The TVET department is commited to
develop quality skilled manpower who possess relevant technical
knowledge and skills, describe work attitude, self reliant and globally
compeitive.
SEAFARERS RATING COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The Seafarer Rating Course aims to
develop world-class Filipino maritime workers into the world's merchant
fleets. The curriculum of the program is based on the STANDARD FOR
TRAINING CERTIFICATION AND WATCHKEEPING (STCW) of Seafarers aimed
to answer the quest of HCDC for quality maritime education and training.
The program is completed after the three-phase training: the first
two (2) phases are taken in the school and the last phase on board
vessel for Deck Rating and/or Hotel for Stewarding Rating.
Specically, the Seafarer Rating Course aims to develop students
with:
- knowledge and skills to meet both domestic and overseas requirements;
- skills in handling and using tools, equipement and materials
to ensure the safety of life at sea; and
- awareness and consciousness of the protection of marine environment.
COMPUTER TECHNICAL OBJECTIVE:
The rapid technological advances
in the Information Technology and the workwide demand for skilled
workers in various sector resulted to the development of the Computer
Technician Course. The program is completed after 550 hours of comprehensive
training in the school and 320 hours in a supervised-industry On-the-Job
Training.
Specifically, the program aims to develop:
- globally competitive computer technicians with the desired skills,
knowledge and competencies required by domestic and international
business and industry;
- technical skills of the workers in the use of tools, equipment
and materials; and
- the value of the dignity of labor.
