The search for the Holy Cross of Davao College Athlete of the Year for the school year 2005-2006 is on.
This was announced by Holy Cross Sport Coordinator Abraham Verdeprado.
"We are now on the process of looking at the achievements of our athletes to detemine who is most deserving for the award", Verdeprado said.
He urges Holy Cross sports scholars to submit their achievements at the sports development office for the athletic awardee purposes.
"We will honor our athletes. We will make this as a simple way of thanking them for what they have done to the school sports program", he said.
Topping the list for the Athlete of the Year honor are swimmer Carlo Rodriguez and trackstar Teodoro Nonalo Jr. Rodriguez, a 3rd year BSC Custom Administration student, reaped five golds, 2 silvers and a bronze during the PRISAA National Games in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. On the other hand, Nonato, a future psychologist broke two PRISAA records in long jump and triple jump. Holy Cross has a total of 72 sports scholars playing in eight sports discipline namely: basketball men, volleyball men and women, chess men and women, swimming men and women, athletics men and women, table tennis men and women and judo men and women. |
