The Holy Cross of Davao College, Inc. (HCDC), through its College Sports Office, bared yesterday the try-out schedule for the seven sport disciplines.
Basketball kicks off its series of try-outs on April 17 at the HCDC Gym, formerly known as CYO Gym, to be followed by table tennis probably on April 24-30.
Chess, which is under the tutelage of National Master Prospero Cruz, takes center stage on May 1 at the HCDC main campus’ student lounge while the track and filed dashes the lane on May 14-15 at the PTA track oval. Volleyball gears up on May 15-16 at the HCDC main campus’ volleyball court.
Though they are still finishing their calendar, the judo and swimming coaches are saying that “interested participants may go to the College Sports Office for early registration.”
Mr. Abraham Verdeprado, HCDC Sports Coordinator for college, said, “We are inviting interested individuals (athletes) to take part in the HCDC sports program by participating in our try-outs.”
To those who will make it, HCDC grants full scholarship including a monthly allowance.
HCDC annually takes part in the National University Games wherein top tertiary schools across the country vie for the highest honor in every sport discipline. Last year, it saw action in three events, namely, basketball (men), volleyball (women), and chess (women).
