To all Alumni of the Holy Cross of Davao College

    Joyful greetings in the Lord!

I am happy and appreciative of your initiative to publish the maiden issue of the Holy Cross of Davao College Alumni Newsletter as you celebrate your 53rd Annual Reunion on September 11, 2004. To bring about renewal, facilitate communication, and strengthen fraternal ties thereby promoting spiritual bonding among alumni and at the same time assuring yourselves of a meaningful, fruitful and memorable gathering-is a godly work that is truly inspiring.

I wish and pray that the HCDC Alumni Association will go a long way in helping fellow alumni to know, love and serve God, to be of service to all men and women, and to live a prosperous and happy life.

Congratulations and God bless you always!

MOST REV. FERNANDO R. CAPALLA.D.D.
Archbishop of Davao

HOLY CROSS OF DAVAO COLLEGE, INC.
Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City
OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

To Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Alumni Association Officers, her is your well-deserved congratulations for launching the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) alumni newsletter.

The call of the day is communication. The life of a person, of the family, of the organization, and eventually of a nation and the world depends on constant exchange of ideas, of knowledge, and experience. When life is communicated, it can be treasured and preserved.

MA. IRIS A. MELLIZA,Ed.D.
President

So too in the alumni association. Your alma mater is playing its good role of being a respectable member of the academic community. There is much which its alumni need to know about the college. Among yourselves, there is so much to celebrate. After graduation, you were in an odyssey and such journey is full of exciting growth worthy of chronicling.

With the world shrinkling into a global village, networking, linkaging, and covergence become by-words. The newsletter can be a venue.

May your zest and commitment continue, become a culture and passed on to your second liners.

Mabuhay ang alumni association! Mabuhay and newsletter!

LETTER FROM THE HCDCAAI PRESIDENT

Dear Fellow Alumni,

September 11 is our Grand Alumni Homecoming for 2004. Once again, reminiscing with our Alma Mater and olf friends will be the order of the day. This year's reunion will be held around to meet us all.

The Holy Cross Academy of Davao now Holy Cross of Davao College had her first batch of elementary graduates in 1956. To date, there are 4,050 graduates in the Grade School; 7,339 in the High School; 34 in the Technical Vocational Educcation and Training (TVET); 17,187 in the college and 23 in the Graduate School. A total of 28,633 graduates now comprise the institutional alumni association which was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission last February 12, 2004 as the Holy Cross of Davao College Alumni Association, Inc. (HCDCAAI).

RAYMUNDO P. PENDOR,Ph.D.
HCDCAAI President

The association envisions to undertake various projects that would help all HCDC Alumni including their dependents. This being the main objective, plans are carried out to insure that members are served well. Among the initial priority projects are the Alumni Scholarship, Mortuary Assistance, HCDC Employee Financial Assistance, Laboratory Assistance, Community Extension Service and Placement Assistance.

In addition, since the school has grown, our alumni association is now in the process of establishing various HCDCAAI chapters here and abroad. Through this linkage, we can disseminate information about our projects and activities to all alumni worldwide. We invite you too, to visit our newly launched alumni website; www.hcdcalumni.ph. Through our website, wherever we are, we can contact our fellow alumni. If we want to know the latest news about our alma mater, locate jobs suitable for us, specially for the new graduates and simply provide current materials for our news publication, this website will be most helpful. It is designed to help all HCDC alumni in the country and abroad. For so long a time now, we have expressed our desire to be updated about he development in our school. This maiden issue of this newsletter is an attempt of our association to fulfill this desire. We shall be looking forward to seeing you again in our next annual alumni homecoming.
