Members of the school community gathered last Friday, June 22 for the ceremonial blessing of the 7-storey new building at the Holy Cross of Davao College main campus.

Davao Archbishop Romulo G. Valles, D.D. presided over the blessing of the new Mabutas Hall and Building D now known as Sta. Ana Hall or SA Hall in honor of St. Anne, the patron saint of the parish where the institution is located.

Archbishop Valles, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of HCDC, expressed his gratitude to the people behind the realization of the new building.

In a short statement after the ceremony, Abp. Valles said that the HCDC community should be grateful for the new building because it is founded in the spirit joy, unity and service to the community.

The new Sta. Ana Hall is the location of some offices and laboratories. 

Among those offices located in SA Hall are the Office of the President, Office of the VP for Administration, Office of the VP for Academics, Human Resource Office and the Office of the Corporate Treasurer in the ground floor while the faculty and department offices are also housed in the said building on the succeeding floors.

The College Registrar and the College Guidance and Counseling Center are now located in Mabutas Hall in the ground floor.

Additional classrooms were also in placed to accommodate the growing population of the students.

The rise of the new building gives also the creation of the Multimedia Laboratory of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication and the new Audio-Visual Room located in 6th and 7th floors respectively, both are expected to be fully operational this school year.

With the completion of the new building the institution is now further equipped to serve the students and the entire HCDC community for years to come. (MKO)
